Robotics merit Badge
Extra! Extra! Extra! Read all about it!
To spread the word about First and STEM. Our team is in the process of making a curriculum for the robotic merit badge. The curriculum is consisted of:
1. Safety
-Most likely hazard that you may encounter while working with robots.
-How to anticipate and respond to these hazards.
-First-Aid procedure
2. Robotics Industry
-What kinds of things or task can robot do?
-The difference between remote-control vehicles, tele-robots, and autonomous robots.
-3 different methods of moving a robot other than wheels and tracks.
3. General Knowledge
-Discuss about human-robot interface, programming, and sensors.
-Their importance to the robotics development.
4. Design, Build, Program, Test
-Give the class an experience in build a robot
5. Demonstrations
-Demonstrate the robot we’ve built.
6. Competitions
-Explain about robotics competitions (How teams organized and managed?)
-Research about three youth robotics competitions (type of competition, time commitment, age of the participants, and how many teams are involved)
7. Careers
- Research three career opportunities in robotics. Pick one and find out the education, training, and experience required for this profession.
